As of 2:00 pm today, reports reaching us confirm that voters’ materials had not yet arrived at the two polling units stationed at Uwani Primary School.


This delay has left voters who turned out early for the bye-election waiting anxiously, raising concerns about how smoothly the exercise will run and whether the late start could affect voter turnout.


What makes the situation even more troubling is the controversy surrounding the leading candidate, Barr. Bright Ngene. Despite having won elections multiple times in the past, Ngene has remained imprisoned under circumstances that many of his supporters describe as politically motivated. Critics argue that rerun after rerun has been used as a tool to suppress his mandate.


Observers are keeping a close watch, and reactions from both the electorate and officials are expected in the coming hours.
