NIGERIANS SPEAK LOUDLY: 91% SAY THE GOVERNMENT HAS FAILED
In a recent Twitter poll conducted by renowned journalist Oseni Rufai (@ruffydfire), Nigerians have once again made their voices heard and the message is crystal clear.
The question was simple:
“The government has performed well”
Yes or No?
Out of 3,517 total votes, a staggering 91% of respondents voted “No,” indicating overwhelming disapproval of the current administration’s performance. Only 9% said “Yes.” The poll, posted in the early hours of July 20, 2025, had just over 5 hours remaining at the time of review and had already garnered more than 13,000 views.
THE 9% AND THE REALITY OF HARDSHIP
Let’s not be deceived, this 9% are likely the beneficiaries of the present hardship. They are the few enjoying political appointments, contracts, inflated privileges, or connected to those in power.
But if only 9% of the population are happy, and 91% are experiencing failure, hunger, unemployment, and insecurity, then something is totally and critically wrong.
This is not the time for silence.
This is not the time for pretense.
We must speak truth to power.
AS THE VOICE OF THE PEOPLE, I MUST ASK:
What kind of leadership satisfies only a privileged few while the masses groan?
What progress are we celebrating when markets are empty and hospitals are broken?
When will those in power take responsibility, not just in speech, but in action?
This poll is not just a digital statistic, it is a cry from the streets.
THE ROAD AHEAD
Let this poll serve as both a warning and a mirror to those leading Nigeria today. Governance is not about propaganda; it is about impact. If 91% of Nigerians say the government is not working, it is time to listen.
The people are watching. The world is watching.
