🔴 BREAKING NEWS YORUBA MAN TO GOV. OKPEBHOLO
EDO STATE IS NOT YOUR PRIVATE ESTATE
This is The Voice of the People, where truth confronts power.
A storm of reactions has followed a viral video showing Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State threatening Mr. Peter Obi not to enter Edo State without his “permission.”
At first, Nigerians were skeptical — some believed it was fake, maybe AI-generated or a poorly acted skit. But it didn’t take long to confirm its authenticity.
No denial.
No press release.
No disclaimer from the Governor’s media team.
Just silence.
And in moments like these, silence speaks volumes.
Now, a concerned Yoruba man has publicly condemned the Governor’s outburst, issuing a strong message:
“Edo State is not your personal property. It is not a private estate. It is part of Nigeria and no Governor has the right to stop a citizen from entering.”
He described Mr. Peter Obi’s visit as peaceful, purposeful, and generous — marked by a ₦15 million donation to an educational institution in Edo State. He questioned why any Governor would respond to such goodwill with hostility and threats.
“Peter Obi came with kindness. He came in peace. And yet, Governor Okpebholo threatened him like a trespasser? That is shameful.”
The Yoruba man called on the Governor to stop playing political godfather and start serving the people. He further advised him to learn from Mr. Obi, whose humility and consistent service have earned him deep respect across Nigeria.
“If you want the love Peter Obi enjoys, you must earn it the way he did — not by force, not by fear, and certainly not through threats.”
The most disturbing part of this drama is the timing:
Governor Okpebholo issued this warning just a day before Peter Obi’s 64th birthday, a day when Nigerians everywhere were donating food, blood, and educational materials in Obi’s honour.
While citizens were giving back to society, you were giving threats. That speaks volumes about the difference in leadership.
And to make it absolutely clear:
"Peter Obi does not need anyone’s permission to enter Edo State — or any state in Nigeria. Not now. Not ever. Edo belongs to the people — not to the ego of a Governor."
🎉 Happy 64th Birthday to Mr. Peter Obi, a true statesman whose presence is welcome in every corner of this country.
