💣 TERROR RETURNS: SUICIDE BOMB STRIKES BORNO, NIGERIA BLEEDS AGAIN
On Saturday, June 22, 2025, tragedy struck the heart of Borno State once again. What was supposed to be a joyful wedding celebration in Konduga town became a mass grave.
A female suicide bomber, cold-hearted and programmed by evil, walked into the gathering and detonated an explosive device, instantly killing at least 10 innocent people. Others were left with devastating injuries. Joy turned to screams. Celebration to chaos. Families were wiped out in seconds.
And then, as the town was still trying to grasp the horror, a second female suicide bomber attempted to strike another location. By divine intervention or pure chance, she was apprehended before causing more destruction.
This act is not only barbaric—it is demonic, and must be condemned in the strongest possible terms. No ideology, no religion, no cause can justify such evil. This was not just an attack on a community—it was an attack on our shared humanity.
❌ BOKO HARAM: A DEFEATED GROUP OR A POLITICAL LIE?
Nigerians have heard it again and again:
> "Boko Haram has been technically defeated."
But how does a “defeated” group orchestrate coordinated attacks in the middle of the day?
How does a “finished” insurgency move explosives, recruit female bombers, and target civilians without resistance?
This bombing has the clear signature of Boko Haram or ISWAP—terror groups known for weaponizing children, women, and even the disabled to commit atrocities.
So we ask, boldly and without apology:
> Has Boko Haram really been defeated—or have our leaders been defeated by lies, laziness, and political comfort?
🕵️ A SYSTEMIC SECURITY COLLAPSE
This latest attack did not happen in a vacuum. It was the direct result of failure—failure in intelligence, failure in community defense, and failure in leadership.
Where were the security checkpoints?
Where were the military patrols?
Where were the local informants?
Why was there no early warning?
We have seen this movie too many times.
Billions of naira are allocated to defense and internal security every year, yet bombers walk freely through towns and murder our people.
This is not just incompetence—it is negligence at the highest level.
⚠️ WHERE IS THE BORNO STATE GOVERNOR?
Let’s speak plainly: Governor Babagana Zulum has failed the people of Konduga.
This is not the first time innocent citizens in Borno have been slaughtered on his watch. And yet, the pattern remains the same:
No preventive measures before the attack.
No rapid response during the crisis.
No concrete action after the bloodshed.
We are tired of rhetoric, press releases, and “condolences”. What we need is governance—real, proactive, strategic leadership that protects lives.
If the Governor cannot secure the lives of his people, then what is his purpose in office?
🤐 SILENCE FROM ABUJA: WHEN DEATH IS NO LONGER SHOCKING
Worse still is the complete silence from the federal government. Since the Konduga bombing, no presidential address, no national mourning, no emergency visit.
It’s as if the lives lost were not Nigerian enough to deserve sympathy.
But let a celebrity trend on Twitter or a governor lose a court case, and Aso Rock will respond within minutes.
> Are we still a country? Or just a geographical area ruled by indifference?
🗣️ AS THE VOICE OF THE PEOPLE, I MUST ASK:
How many more lives will be lost before Nigerian lives are valued over political games?
How long shall we accept the blood of our children as part of daily news?
When will Governor Zulum and the federal government stop making excuses and start saving lives?
Who will be held accountable—or do we simply move on until the next explosion?
These are the questions the people are asking. And they deserve real answers—not empty promises or silence.
✊ ENOUGH IS ENOUGH – THIS MUST BE THE TURNING POINT
Let this bombing not fade into yesterday’s news.
Let it be the point where Nigerians rise—not just in anger, but in unity and determination.
We must demand:
✅ 1. FULL SECURITY AUDIT NOW
Let independent experts review the entire security setup in Borno State and other volatile regions. Expose the weaknesses. Prosecute those responsible for neglect.
✅ 2. BUILD COMMUNITY INTELLIGENCE NETWORKS
The people are the first line of defense. Train and empower locals to spot suspicious activities and alert security early.
✅ 3. HOLD POLITICAL LEADERS ACCOUNTABLE
It is not enough to condemn attacks. Governors, military commanders, and federal agencies must face consequences for negligence.
✅ 4. TREAT EVERY DEATH AS NATIONAL TRAGEDY
Declare national mourning for victims. Offer compensation to families. Show that every Nigerian life matters—not just during elections.
🕯️ KONDUGA DESERVED BETTER
The people of Konduga did not die because Boko Haram was strong.
They died because their leaders were weak.
They died because those in power were more interested in political appearances than in protecting the people they swore to serve.
As the voice of the people, I will not be silent while our fellow Nigerians are buried like animals, forgotten and dismissed.
We owe them more.
We owe them action.
We owe them justice.
